Our service and support for excitation control, protection and synchronising equipment ensures that the operation of the rotating asset is not put at risk by potential failure of obsolete control equipment.

Quartzelec is ideally placed to assist and offer; guidance to clients, necessary service and support, management of obsolescence issues and identify the most suitable upgrade path. As an independent company, we have gained wide experience of control equipment of many different OEMs allowing us to deliver unique solutions across a wide range of designs to suit individual applications with minimum downtime, scheduled around planned maintenance outages.

Any control and protection system proposed would incorporate modern ‘commercial-off-the-shelf’ (COTS) equipment, combined with engineering and site support expertise to generate a product, tailor-made to customer requirement.

Solutions are available in various arrangements: As a kit of parts; Installed and commissioned at site within existing enclosure(s); Back-plate mounted equipment; pre-configured and tested before arrival at site for mounting in existing enclosure(s); New cubicle with optional synchronising and generator/motor protection.

Quartzelec is able to carry out the design, build and test of excitation systems (including dynamic AVR testing through our in-house, state-of-the-art test facility).  In addition, installation and commissioning services are available.
