A cost effective and straightforward option suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas primarily for terminal box upgrade or for retro-fit. The Air Insulated terminal box offers a flexible solution for machine terminations where a lower fault rating can be accommodated.
The Air Insulated Box is fabricated from steel plate and has a gasketed removable panel at the front and a removable gasketed polyester/glass barrier plate at the rear. The area of fabrication around the barrier plate provides an interface to the equipment. Terminations are provided in the form of copper bars supported on an insulating bar. The incoming cables pass through a removable gasketed gland plate at the base of the enclosure and the onward connections pass through the polyester/glass barrier into which they are sealed with non-metallic compression glands. The outgoing cables require right-angled lugs, each having double hole fixings. Up to six leads may be brought from the equipment, 2 per phase. The incoming supply connection is for cable lugs with a single hole but with the scope for having 2 cables per phase. Insulated clamping cable supports may be fitted to these cables in the lower part of the enclosure. The terminal box must be fuse protected.
A full range of spares to support this terminal box assembly are available.
