Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) remains a priority throughout the Quartzelec Group of Companies, kicking off the new year once again with a group-wide Safety Stand Down.
With employees based on-site, in our workshops, operational from the office as well as working from home, it was important that every employee took some time away from their roles to reflect about safety in the workplace.
Quartzelec remains committed to delivering an extensive range of Rotating Machines and Contracting Services to support critical industries and key service sectors, whilst ensuring that all our employees are safe as well as COVID compliant.
Last year saw the introduction of several new internal initiatives including, ‘It’s Safe to Say’, an employee focussed well-being programme with the intention to provide a ‘safe’ environment for employees to speak out or look for support in complete confidentiality. This has been very well received and, working with our employees, we have been able to implement some very successful changes to our procedures, resulting in a more positive and safety aware workforce.
2021 also saw the introduction of a ‘Safer Driving to Work’ handbook for all employees as we undertook driver risk assessments and driver profiling. Driving at work is considered one of the most hazardous activities that employees do and here at Quartzelec, we want to make sure that all our employees have the necessary information, resources and training that they need to make safer driving decisions.
So, as we build on our successes from 2021 we start 2022 just as focussed with Sustainability Improvements identified as a key business target across the group endeavouring to make real and positive change. We are also embracing innovative techniques and training to ensure our teams manage risk within the work place environment, effectively and responsively.
The Quartzelec Group of Companies are committed to staying safe and growing stronger together.
