TS Metals gets a clean ‘Covid’ bill of health

11 November 2020

With more stringent Government controls being implemented in the bid to eradicate Covid-19, TS Metals, part of the Quartzelec group of companies and a welding and fabrication specialist, today received an unannounced visit from the HSE as it undertakes spot checks on Covid-19 regulations compliance – and it passed with flying colours.

“TS Metals has remained fully operational throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting customers’ by delivering vital engineering support services and meeting their welding and fabrication requirements,” stated Ian Addison, Business Unit Manager for TS Metals. "Over the past few months, we have successfully delivered a number of operation critical solutions to customers without compromising safety or prompt delivery.”

The HSE inspector arrived unannounced and then undertook an accompanied tour of the facilities, recording various aspects using a digital camera and making copious notes, all to ensure health and safety regulations and requirements were being complied with.

Ashley Knight, the Group SHEQ Manager added: “Ensuring that our employees remain COVID-19 secure in the workplace has been a primary concern for us.  In addition to meeting all the ‘normal’ operational and safety requirements, we also implemented the necessary systems, controls, communication, PPE provision and cleansing stations to meet additional Covid-19 safety requirements. It was great news to learn that our provision was considered exemplary during today’s HSE spot check.  We will keep working hard to ensure our team and all visitors remain safe and provide our clients with the necessary level of service they deserve.”
