Apprentice Accountant
Working within the HQ finance team the successful candidate will be required to support the processes of management accounting, statutory accounting and systems accounting.
The successful candidate will be enrolled on the UK Apprenticeship Scheme and initially work towards a level 4 / AAT qualification with the potential to continue studying towards a level 7 – ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualification and become a fully qualified professional accountant.
The role will be Rugby based with travel required to the different locations within the group on an adhoc basis.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts
- Processing journals
- Fixed assets – reporting/auditing/reconciliations
- Accruals and prepayments – calculating and posting
- Customer accounts - Maintenance and reconciliation
- Raising non-trade invoices
- Supplier accounts - Maintenance and reconciliation
- Supplier invoice processing
- Stock – reporting/auditing/reconciliations
- Bank account postings / reconciliations
- Bookkeeping for overseas branches / subsidiaries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Completing National Statistic returns
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
The successful applicant will posses:
- 5 GSCEs including Maths and English
- Prediction of 3 x A Levels grade D or above
- Team player with ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
- Strong all round IT skills including advanced Excel skills
- Good attention to detail
- Good problem solving skills
