Compex Electrician


Quartzelec are looking for highly motivated and ambitious individuals to supplement our established Ex Electrical business in Aberdeen, the baseline requirements shown are essential with training given to meet our diverse needs within the Marine Engineering, Oil and Gas and Onshore Contracting industries.

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to perform EX (Explosion-Proof) installations, maintenance, and reactive services
  • Read and interpret electrical technical drawings from marine, commercial, and industrial sectors
  • Perform electrical installations across various sectors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Conduct inspection and testing of electrical systems and components
  • Demonstrate strong fault-finding skills, particularly with motors and control systems
  • Attend meetings with major stakeholders, providing updates on safety, quality, resources, and project delays.
  • Provide clear, detailed explanations of inspection and testing findings during meetings
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports documenting inspection results and any identified issues

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Completion of a Time-Served Electrical Apprenticeship
  • Proven expertise in electrical installations and fault diagnosis
  • Valid CompEx EX 01-04 certification for hazardous area operations
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Certificate (preferred)
  • Experience with Testing and Inspection to the 18th Edition BS7671 standards (highly beneficial)
  • Strong leadership in promoting and adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar industrial or marine industry role (preferred)
