As the Contracts Engineer you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of contracts. You will be part of the management team and will work towards achieving the overall objectives of the business by driving high standards of safety, work and continuous improvement in process and quality of operations.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- Oversee and manage all operational requirements and programming to ensure adherence to best practices and continuity, while assuming responsibility for maintaining optimal operational resource levels
- Maintain financial accountability for projects, oversee the operational workforce, including subcontractors, and ensure that tasks are adequately instructed and communicated
- Generate and authorise NICEIC certification as well as other necessary testing data, ensuring that the results of inspections and tests are accurately documented
- Prepare quotations and estimates, procure materials, and provide technical assistance and support to colleagues in the development of quotes and tender submissions
- Conduct inspection audits, participate in client meetings, and uphold superior customer service standards while achieving key performance indicators, including customer satisfaction, first-time fix rates, productivity, and financial objectives
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with both new and existing clients to promote repeat business opportunities
- Manage health and safety protocols to ensure that all work is executed safely, with reasonable and practical measures implemented to safeguard all parties involved
- Ensure strict compliance with all Company Policies, with particular emphasis on operational delivery in accordance with the Company’s Safety Regulations
- Assist the Business Manager with additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
The successful applicant will possess:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualifying supervisor for an NICEIC approved company
- Experience of leading team
- Full understanding of the inspection, testing, verification, certification, and reporting procedures for the range of electrical work undertaken
- Knowledge of all electrical systems in domestic and commercial settings
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of electrical installations and repairs, inspection and testing, emergency lighting and fire alarm service, maintenance, and installation
- An extensive knowledge of the Electricity at Works Regulations, current edition of BS7671 and the Codes of Practice and guidance documents relevant to the range of electrical work undertaken
