Due to a growing volume of work, we are looking to hire an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a broad skill set across various disciplines, including design, engineering, construction, procurement, maintenance, and project management.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- A Strong ability to understand project objectives and deliverables
- Design and specification of electrical installations, from low voltage (LV) to 33kV systems
- Comprehensive modelling of electrical systems, including load calculations, fault level assessments, and coordination of protective measures
- Ensuring designs and on-site work comply with relevant standards and regulations
- Developing technical specifications for electrical equipment
- Communicating design concepts clearly through meetings, technical documentation, and detailed drawings to ensure accurate representation
- Acting as a technical representative in client and contractor meetings, showcasing professionalism and expertise
- Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring on-site activities to ensure project integrity
- Managing project delivery components with a focus on budget and cost control
- Writing detailed reports and maintaining comprehensive records in line with company standards
- Promoting effective communication and collaboration across teams to achieve project goals
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
The successful applicant will possess:
- A minimum qualification of HND/HNC or an equivalent credential is essential
- A minimum of five years of experience in electrical design
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other technical / electrical modelling software applications such as Amtech, ETAP, Power Factory, etc
- Familiarity with relevant technical standards is required
- Strong skills in professional report writing
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD software
- Holds a current registration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or a commitment to achieve registration in the near future
- Experience in utility or connections-related projects
- Must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to manage one's workload independently
