As a result of our sustained expansion, we are currently seeking to onboard a seasoned Electrical Test Engineer with expertise in rotating machines to support our operations at multiple locations throughout the UK, overseas, and offshore.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- Performing inspections and dissembly of rotating machines
- Understanding and interpreting mechanical and schematic drawings
- Conducting basic electrical testing to assess machine condition
- Accurately identifying damage and wear on AC/DC electric motors and other machinery
- Collaborating with the Project Manager to create a realistic Project Plan that includes resource requirements and estimated durations
- Monitoring progress against the Project Plan and developing strategies to address any actual or potential delays
- Coordinating working hours and shift schedules with the client to ensure projects are completed within the planned timelines
- Ensuring that Risk Assessments and Method Statements are communicated to all relevant individuals
- Working with the Project Manager and responsible Engineer to ensure all necessary check sheets and quality record forms are collected and distributed prior to site mobilisation
- Ensuring the overall safety of the Quartzelec team and activities carried out
- Engaging in daily communication with client representatives on site
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
The successful applicant will possess:
- You are a qualified professional with extensive experience in fitting and winding for electrical machinery
- You must possess a technical qualification from a reputable college, along with a minimum of 3 years of on-site project experience working with rotating electrical machines
- You will have knowledge of medium to large electrical rotating machines, including High Voltage systems, AC & DC motors, and generators, is essential
- You will be Experienced in conducting electrical testing, such as PD&TD testing, El CID testing, RSO testing, and HV Leakage testing.
