The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a proactive and motivated Project Engineer to join our growing team, playing a key role in the delivery of rotating machinery projects across the UK and internationally. Working within a productive and supportive project and management team, you’ll be responsible for driving projects from early opportunity through to delivery and close-out.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a customer-facing environment, enjoys building long-term relationships, and takes pride in delivering high-quality technical projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
You’ll have the chance to work closely with customers, project teams, and site teams—contributing to continuous improvement, commercial success, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and assessment of new and existing project opportunities, providing technical input into quotations and estimates.
- Review work scopes, identify risks, and advise on project timescales and requirements.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, conducting customer visits and supporting project kick-off meetings across the UK.
- Act as the primary communication link between the customer, site teams, and project teams throughout project delivery.
- Lead project close-out activities, including lessons learned and customer feedback.
- Read, interpret, and implement contractual requirements, maintaining appropriate project controls with support from the wider team.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for project deliverables—from initial scope, timings, and budgets through to final delivery.
- Proactively manage project costs and efficiencies, flagging risks to budget or timescales at the earliest opportunity.
- Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) aligned with project scope and work instructions.
- Work with project and site teams to ensure tooling, equipment, and project information are prepared and available on time.
- Oversee the management and safe return of site equipment and tooling.
- Provide onsite support across the UK and internationally, assisting with manpower, technical queries, and tooling requirements during project execution.
Your skills and experiences:
- Demonstrable experience within the electrical rotating machines industry.
- BTEC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong awareness of the financial and commercial impacts on project outcomes.
- Highly driven, enthusiastic, and motivated to achieve success.
- Excellent customer focus with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Clear and confident communication—both written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexibly, independently, and as part of a wider team.
- Commitment to Continuous Improvement and high-quality project delivery.
- Experience supervising or supporting site teams (desirable).
- Willingness to travel and work onsite across the UK and internationally.
